SPANISH FRUITS VISUAL VOCABULARY LIST FREEBIE

KS2 SPANISH PRIMARY SPANISH ESPAÑOL PARA NIÑOS SPANISH FRUITS VISUAL VOCABULARY LIST LAS FRUTAS EN ESPAÑOL Twenty fruits in Spanish, with both words and pictures The resource is non-editable in a zipped format. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed outside your own classroom. The license is a single-user license only. The resource is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. I like to give visual vocabulary lists to my young beginner learners of Spanish, as they can generally more easily assimilate new language and vocabulary when they are able to link it in their memory with a visual image. Children glue them into their Spanish vocabulary books, or file them in their Spanish vocabulary folders with other vocabulary lists, which gives them an accessible and useful Spanish vocabulary reference bank for both class and home learning. We also discuss which fruits we know and like, and those we would like to try. Children like to create their own word and picture dictionary lists, adding to it as they learn more. I don’t necessarily have all the fruits in my teaching and learning plan, but it’s always a good idea to give children opportunity to engage with a broader range of words and sounds, which they begin to absorb quite naturally. The fruits focus on the definite article, either singular or plural, which is a great for promoting discussion about grammatical concepts in Spanish, specifically gender of Spanish nouns. The fruits are: the apples the bananas the cherries the fig the grapes the lemon the mango the nectarine the olives the orange the papaya the peach the pear the pineapple the pumpkins the raspberry the rhubarb the starfruit the strawberries the watermelon Students really enjoy this Spanish fruits super simple worksheet freebie: SPANISH FRUITS SUPER SIMPLE WORKSHEET FREEBIE https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/primary-spanish-fruits-visual-vocabulary-worksheets-freebie-12904506 Try this Spanish fruits word search freebie: SPANISH FRUITS WORD SEARCH FREEBIE https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/spanish-fruits-word-search-freebie-12498663 There are two backgrounds to choose from - Spanish flag, which I use for Spanish vocabulary display, or plain. The resource is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. I like to give visual vocabulary lists to my young beginner learners of French, as they can generally more easily assimilate new language and vocabulary when they are able to link it in their memory with a visual image, and it’s particularly important to match a clock time with the corresponding clock face when learning how to tell the time. Children glue the lists into their French vocabulary books, or file them in their French vocabulary folders with other vocabulary lists, which gives them an accessible and useful French vocabulary reference bank for both class and home learning. For young and / or beginner French learners, I focus initially on a single time set, and this list shows 10 past the hour on a single page. This is because in my experience students benefit from a very clear outline of new language and vocabulary, avoiding lots of text on a single page - even my older students who are completely new to French prefer this. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed outside your own classroom. The license is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use. The resource is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. I like to have sets of super simple worksheets that I can give to my Primary French and beginner KS3 French students, not only when they’re new to the target vocabulary, but also for refreshing and revising language they’ve learnt some time ago. Students can generally more easily assimilate new language and vocabulary when they are able to link it in their memory with a visual image, and it’s particularly important to match a clock time with the corresponding clock face when learning how to tell the time. I give my students these worksheets at the same time as introducing the time set in French, so that they can practise and embed both recognizing the time, and writing the time phrase itself. Students really enjoy the opportunity to test their recall too. The worksheets are useful in a number of contexts: I use them for cover lessons, as starters, plenaries, five-minute refreshers and home learning activities. I occasionally use them for more formal assessment purposes too. GCSE ITALIAN KS4 ITALIAN KS3 ITALIAN YEAR 7 ITALIAN BEGINNER ITALIAN NUMBERS 0-100 LIST FREEBIE Files are non-editable in a zipped format. The resource is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, shared, amended, rewritten or distributed, in whole or in part, outside your own classroom in any way. The license is a single-user licence only. The product is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. I encourage my beginner Italian students of all ages and stages to build up comprehensive vocabulary banks that they can reference easily whenever they need it, and they’re also really useful for regular vocabulary audits, which really helps students map their progress and keep track of their learning. Students take responsibility for organising their own learning materials from the very beginning of their learning, keeping them carefully in vocabulary learning files or folders. My students all have reference resource binders or files - these can have a range of formats - for instance, sticking into a large exercise book, or punching holes down the left-hand side, and adding to files. We also use twine or thick string, which young Italian learners really enjoy making. I also use this kind of vocabulary list for quick vocabulary quizzes, spelling competitions and so on, and it also works well laminated for small-group work in class time. The font size is fairly large, as ensuring that language is clear and accessible is essential for beginner language learners, as they begin to familiarize themselves with words and spelling systems in a new language. I have also uploaded a number reference sheet I give my more experienced Italian learners - it’s in landscape format, with all the numbers on a single sheet, so the font size is smaller - students who’ve been learning Italian for a while are comfortable with quite a lot of text on a single page. Have a look at it here: ITALIAN NUMBERS 0-100 LIST FREEBIE #2 https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/italian-numbers-0-100-list-freebie-2-12439282 There are two backgrounds to choose from - Italian flag, which I generally use for Italian vocabulary display, and plain. FRENCH NUMBERS 0-21 WORD WALL FREEBIE

PRIMARY FRENCH KS2 FRENCH NUMBERS 0-21 WORD WALL It’s easy to create an instant introduction to French Numbers 0-21 with this set of word wall cards, featuring beginning numbers that I like to share with my young learners of French. They’re really useful during the introduction phase, and we also use them for developing language skills and awareness in general. We like to do number guessing and calculation games at regular intervals too. There are two cards per 8.5 x 11 (A4) page in landscape format - the words are definitely big enough for children to be able to read - we do lots of guessing and mental math games, using these as a visual prompt. Although I tend to get my students to prepare the word wall header, I’ve included one here, as we often have both on our wall. There are two backgrounds to choose from - French flag or black wave. The cards to look great in colour, but are still really nice if you prefer to print in B&W to keep costs down. I definitely recommend that you print on card stock and/or laminate as it’s definitely worth the extra prep time and expense. The word wall cards hang really nicely, and they remain in excellent condition for a long time, so you’ll be able to use the***French Numbers Word Wall*** for years. GERMAN COLOURS FLASHCARDS FREEBIE #2

PRIMARY GERMAN COLOURS ADJECTIVAL AGREEMENT Die Farben auf deutsch 12 posters / flashcards These four adjectival agreement posters, with a focus on the colour grün, make an ideal grammar and speaking prompt in the German classroom - for example, I encourage children to look carefully at the similarities and differences between der grüne Regenschirm and die grüne Flasche in the singular, and die grünen Regenschirme and die grünen Flaschen in the plural. Giving learners the opportunity to look very closely at language, to identify similarities and differences with their first language, as well as rules and patterns in the target language, is a really key language teaching and learning strategy. I use high-frequency beginner German vocabulary to do this, for both younger and older learners. As they build up their vocab, with increasing understanding of gender, they are able to apply those rules and patterns to new language. I use questions such as Richtig der falsch ? die grüne Regenschirme? , really emphasising, even exaggerating pronunciation, so that they can hear the difference in agreement. I often write the questions on the whiteboard too, as it’s equally important that they are able to recognize the differences in the written words too, and to link sound with spelling - all of this means I really make the most from my classroom learning display. Have a look at these German Colours Posters / Flashcards (£3): GERMAN COLOURS POSTERS FLASHCARDS - 16 COLOURS IN GERMAN https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/primary-german-colours-posters-flashcards-12423285 Try this freebie too, it’s great for promoting speaking in the Primary German Classroom: GERMAN COLOURS POSTERS FREEBIE #1 - WAS IST DEINE LIEBLINGSFARBE? https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/primary-german-colours-posters-freebie-1-12423245 Have a browse in my store for more German flashcards and classroom display, with a wide range of other German teaching and learning materials, and lots of freebies too! I’ve found that the lists are a great learning support resource, and they’re really popular with students too. They work well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class. This list is a second collection of 25 high-frequency Spanish adjectives that I’ve found are ideal for beginner Spanish into intermediate Spanish learning programmes - it’s an important step in language learning to ensure that students quickly develop a useful Spanish adjectives vocabulary bank, are able to recognize Spanish adjectives, and are confident with the meaning of those adjectives in English - at that point we can move swiftly on to looking at adjectival agreement, producing more complex and descriptive language, and using the adjectives in a communicative and practical context, which is essential for progressing in language learning. The purpose of the list isn’t to simply learn all 25 adjectives by rote: it’s a longer-term reference resource that students use for example when they’re writing creatively, preparing written texts, or working with their talk partner to develop speaking skills. My students also use their vocabulary reference lists to help them audit their developing Spanish vocabulary in general. There are two alphabetical lists - one Spanish-English, and one English-Spanish, as I’ve found that most language students prefer to have both as a reference resource. There are two backgrounds to choose from - Spanish flag, which I generally use for Spanish vocabulary display, and plain. The list is a great time-saver for teachers too - if you’re preparing resources focusing on adjectives in Spanish for your students, the list is a good starting point. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed in any way outside your own classroom. It is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. *** 25 high-frequency Spanish verbs, listed alphabetically Spanish-English and English-Spanish ideal as a year-round reference resource, and students find it particularly useful for exam revision, whether working in class time or at home. It’s useful for advanced beginner Spanish students to provide a language learning map, for intermediate Spanish students who are working with more complex language and texts, including authentic resources, and advanced Spanish students as a vocabulary audit and enrichment. The verbs are all in the infinitive form and include regular and irregular Spanish verbs. It’s important in language learning to ensure that students quickly develop a useful Spanish verb vocabulary bank, are able to recognize high-frequency Spanish verbs, and are confident with the meaning of those verbs in their first or home language. At that point students can move swiftly on to looking at conjugation and using the verbs in a communicative and practical context, enabling them to produce more detailed and descriptive language. This is an integral element to successful language learning. Students shouldn’t take on the task of learning long lists of verbs or other vocabulary all at once though: frequent and regular use in real-world practical contexts is far more successful at embedding vocabulary into longer-term memory. I also use the books for quick vocabulary quizzes, again at frequent and regular intervals - I simply shout out the Spanish or English verb, the first student or team to shout out the correct answer wins a point. I’ve found this to be a really successful alternative to more formal vocabulary testing. The list is a great time-saver for teachers too - if you’re preparing resources focusing on high-frequency Spanish verbs for your students, the list is a good starting point. (2)
PRIMARY SPANISH KS3 SPANISH KS2 SPANISH COLOURS FLASHCARDS POSTERS Los colores en español - 8 posters / flashcards These four my favourite colour posters make an ideal speaking prompt in the Spanish classroom - I encourage children to ask each other ¿Cuál es tu color favorito? as a lesson starter / warm-up, and to select a different colour every time they answer. As they learn more colours, their answers become more varied. I tend to introduce the plural form with the connective y (and) quite quickly, so that students can extend their answers as much as they possibly can - they have great fun seeing who knows the most colours, and can create the longest answers. The key colours are: blue, green, pink and yellow. There are two backgrounds to choose from - either the Spanish flag, or black wave. Laminate the posters if possible, or print on card stock, particularly if you’re going to use them as flashcards to introduce and practise language too: they’ll hang really nicely, stay in good shape, and you’ll be able to use the posters for many years to come! Use them as flashcards to introduce and practise language too - it’s a traditional and successful low-tech teaching method, which gives students a welcome break from the whiteboard - varying teaching methodologies in the language learning classroom is always a good idea, and I also encourage my students to take the role of the teacher too, which they find really motivating. It doesn’t matter if this particular language doesn’t feature in your immediate or even longer-term learning plan: the flashcards / posters provide learners with daily opportunities to engage with the written word in Spanish, to develop their recognition and recall of individual words, to identify cognates, and to begin to link spelling with sound in Spanish. Have a browse in my store for more Spanish flashcards / posters, and a wide range of other teaching and learning resources, with special offer bundles, resource boxes, and lots of freebies too! I like to have sets of super simple Spanish vocabulary recall worksheets that my students can work on independently for both practice and revision, either in class time or for home learning. They’re really useful for embedding vocabulary, checking recall, and for reading, writing and accurate spelling in Spanish. These four recall worksheets focus on 25 high-frequency Spanish AR verbs, and feature four differentiated recall challenges: Challenge 1: translate and write the verbs in English from a Spanish prompt; the Spanish verbs are in alphabetical order Challenge 2: translate and write the verbs in Spanish from an English prompt; the English verbs are in alphabetical order Challenge 3: translate and write the verbs in English from a Spanish prompt; the Spanish verbs are in random, rather than alphabetical order. This is really useful for vocabulary recall, as students often learn new vocabulary in alphabetical order. Challenge 4: translate and write the verbs in Spanish from an English prompt; the English verbs are in random, rather than alphabetical order It’s really useful for language learners to be familiar with a broad range of key Spanish verb vocabulary, and the worksheets provide a language learning map, enabling students to move on confidently to more complex language and texts, including authentic resources. At that point students can move swiftly on to looking at conjugation and using the verbs in a communicative and practical context, enabling them to produce more detailed and descriptive language. This is an integral element to successful language learning. The worksheets also work well as a Spanish vocabulary audit and enrichment. I give my students this Spanish AR verbs list both as an answer key for independent checking, and as a reference resource - download it for free here: SPANISH AR VERBS LIST FREEBIE #1 https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/spanish-ar-verbs-list-freebie-1-12435587 Have a browse in my store for more super simple Spanish vocabulary recall worksheets, and a wide range of other Spanish teaching and learning resources, with Spanish resource boxes, special offer bundles and lots of freebies. ¡MUCHAS GRACIAS Y BUEN APRENDIZAJE!

Please read the Terms of Use. The product is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. Spanish Numbers 0-31 Challenge Cards really do help to create a lively language learning environment. Students can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their knowledge of Spanish numbers in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. The questions and responses have a bonus multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling. They’re great for helping beginner Spanish students familiarize themselves with, and develop competence in, speaking, reading, writing and spelling longer words in Spanish. The cards are useful not only when you’re focusing on Spanish Numbers 0-31, but also for cover lessons, as an all-year-round starter, plenary and general ‘pick-me-up’ activity, as the goal is not simply to learn how to count in Spanish, but also to enjoy working with Spanish, and to feel confident about doing so. All questions are in Spanish, and range in complexity and challenge, both in terms of language and number skills. I’ve used visual prompts such as maths symbols to ensure all learners can engage with the questions, and this helps them to begin to infer meaning from context, and to decode cues and prompts to foster understanding. I don’t allow the use of calculators to increase the challenge a little. Some questions focus specifically on Spanish maths language, which students do not always engage with very often. The level of maths is fairly simple, but certainly draws on prior number and arithmetic learning. I’ve labelled the cards A-L, so that if you have the set of 48 task cards, you can use them together. Try this set of 48 differentiated challenge cards focusing on Spanish Numbers 0-31: SPANISH NUMBERS 0-31 : 48 DIFFERENTIATED CHALLENGE CARDS WITH ANSWER KEY & RECORDING SHEET https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/spanish-numbers-0-31-challenge-cards-11748397 Have a browse in my store for more Spanish resources and freebies. ¡MUCHAS GRACIAS Y BUEN APRENDIZAJE!

The product is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. Perfect for developing Spanish language skills in general, as well as for practising and revising numbers 0-21 in Spanish. There are 12 differentiated questions, with answer key and recording sheet. The cards are numbered A-L, so you can easily use these with the set of 48 task cards, making a total of 60 cards. Challenge cards are an ideal language learning activity, perfect for multi-skill language learning: listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling. They really help students develop more independence in their learning, moving away from more teacher-led tasks and activities. All the questions are in Spanish, including a range of Spanish maths language. Students may not necessarily engage with that at this stage of their learning, so I use maths symbols as visual clues and prompts, enabling students to infer meaning from context. This is a key language learning skill in general, which is important for students to develop as quickly as possible. Depending on the particular group, I may read through the questions together as a whole-group first. I really try to make the most of the task cards too - for example, with multiple-choice questions, I ask students how they have arrived at the correct response, and what is wrong with the other responses. Being able to identify errors is a key language learning skill, and it’s useful for students to begin to develop that from the very beginning of their learning. The resource comprises the following non-editable files in a zipped format: 12 differentiated question cards 4 per A4 (8.5 x 11) paper. Print, laminate and cut out. Laminating is definitely worth the extra prep time and expense, as they cards are far more learner-friendly, and last for absolutely years. answer key & answer recording sheet The set of Spanish Numbers 0-21 Challenge Cards, with 48 differentiated question cards, answer key and recording sheet is here: SPANISH NUMBERS 0-21 TASK CARDS : 48 DIFFERENTIATED CHALLENGE CARDS WITH ANSWER KEY & RECORDING SHEET https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/spanish-numbers-0-21-challenge-cards-11856691 Have a browse in my store for more Spanish resources and freebies. ¡MUCHAS GRACIAS Y BUEN APRENDIZAJE!
